Cuba Ron S.A. Corporation announces the launching of a new profile on the social network Facebook dedicated to the Cuban Rum Masters Movement. It will take place on September 10th, the date that marks the first anniversary of the decease of the First Cuban Rum Master José Pablo Navarro Campa.
This action is part of the communication campaign that launched the Candidacy of the File Knowledge of the Masters of Light Rum to join the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of humanity.
The new profile is conceived as a space for sharing the knowledge of the Cuban Rum Masters Movement, which is the main architect of the design and creation of Cuban spirits. In addition, the profile shows the work done in order to safeguard the tradition, history and identity that these men and women have carried out for many years.
With attractive and contemporary multimedia design proposals, the profile will make available a varied content to lovers of the Cuban rum industry, but always as a testimony of the Masters, who will be protagonists of each publication, allowing direct exchange with the public.
The candidacy of the File Knowledge of the Masters of Light Rum to join the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of humanity began in 2016, once the status of Cultural Heritage of the Nation was reached.
At present, the Cuban Rum Masters Movement consists of 9 masters and 5 aspirants.
The expertise of these Masters, beyond the pure knowledge, is a way of living that includes a moral code - unwritten guidelines of public and private behavior - that transcends brands and markets, focused on the culture of Cuban rum, its history and good practices. A Master is the bearer of a knowledge that combines science, tradition and sensitivity. This knowledge guarantees the custody of the manufacture of Cuban rum and allows each rum to be a cultural product beyond its commercial character. The knowledge of the Rum Masters is related to a process that begins with the idea, with the meaning that each product will have, with the image that it will project as if it were an artistic project. This knowledge has been established through generations, about the importance of protecting aging cellars, knowing the content and history of each barrel, its rotations or repairs and knowing which blends produce a certain aroma, color and body. The Masters are the main architects of the entire rum manufacturing process, from the aging of the spirits and their blends, the filtrations that are performed, the manufacture of the base rums that are again aged in oak barrels of their own selection, to the proportions of blends of these aged base rums that will later give rise to the finished rum, going beyond technical regulations.
