Following the intention of improving production methods within an industrialization effort to guarantee the duality of technology, the UEB Destilería of the "Santiago de Cuba" Rum factory has developed a steam generator assembly project to ensure the continuity of the processes in the face of the breakdown of the equipment.
Due to certain technological difficulties to guarantee the continuity of the production process in this distillery, which belongs to the group of dependencies of the Cuba Ron S.A. Corporation, the local staff is hard at work to develop solutions that guarantee efficient results. Therefore, the expansion of the equipment will allow to recover hot water to then convert it into steam.
The steam generator is an expensive technology and the one at use in the distillery has undergone intensive exploitation, for periods of 24 productive days and sometimes it is used throughout the year, which causes deterioration.
The relevant conditions are already ensured and this is demonstrated by the creation of the premises, the boiler room and the new container for the assembly of the fuel tank (a place where a fuel tank can be placed to avoid accidents and oil spillage into the environment).
The assembly will be carried out without shutting down the factory and production will take place in parallel. As a strategy, the Distillery has guaranteed the productive overfulfillment so that it does not affect production.
The execution of the project, which is planned for the month of October, will include all the innovations that are being developed in the Distillery, such as the phytosanitary treatment project. The assembly will also require a hot air exchanger that will join the group of actions to carry out. These plans also have the linkage of the university and aims to generalize the practice in the country to incorporate this process in the industries that use steam generators.
