Several brands have joined during 2020 the product portfolio of Ronera Central "Agustín Rodríguez Mena". Located in the municipality of Santo Domingo, Province Villa Clara and recognized as the cradle of rum Cubay. This industry honors a tradition rooted in national history and culture and aims for each new design to evoke this legacy.
"By 2020, despite all the epidemiological problems, what has been left over in the Ronera Central and in the rum industry in the center of the island, has been work. We have been immersed in the development of new brands and the enrichment of others such as Sao Can, the spirits presented by Cuba Ron. In addition, it has also been enriched with a portfolio of products in the range of rums." Thus says César Augusto Martí Marcelo rum master and architect of many of these brands.
"We have also developed another brand to be marketed in Europe and Cuba, the Kawamabrand. So far, four products have been designed: a schnapps, with native characteristics that identify traditional Cuban spirits, a Silver Dry, a dark aged and an elixir. In addition, customers has asked us to design an Extra AñejoKawama13 and 19 años."
"We are also materializing the manufacture of another project that leaves for France, a Carta Blanca and a Carta Dorada, representing the emblematic classes of Cuban rum under the name Paralero 22. Thus, with our most comprehensive project, the Ron Eminente, an International Economic Partnership was signed at the beginning of the year with the luxury consortium Louis Votom-Moet Hennessy. All the rum producers here in the center of the island feel motivated and hopeful."
For Carlos Rubén de Armas Díaz, Director-General of Ronera Central, 2020 has been marked by the diversification of the rum family of the center of the country and its presence in the world market.
"It has been a year of an awakening in the diversification of rums from central Cuba. For several years, the rum from central Cuba was the Cubay, now Cubay is accompanied by many brothers and other brands that depended on the design of a group of technologists, specialists and masters of the factory. They have guaranteed that brands such as Kawama, Paralelo 22 and Sao Can have been introduced to the European market, have also made a name for themselves and ensured that our product continues to be known in the world, also receiving the necessary revenue for the operation of the industry and the country."
"This is but the result of the collective work of many people who every day come to this entity to give their best, so that our Cubay, our products and everything we do in our entity continues to grow and that rum in central Cuba continues to be part of our country's cultural expression and an exclusive part of our traditions." said the rum master.
